Overall, coconut oil is a versatile and beneficial ingredient in Indian cuisine and Ayurvedic medicine. Its unique properties make it a popular choice for cooking and as a health supplement.
Jaivik Jeevan oils are Cold-pressed & Wood-pressed and are considered healthier alternatives to conventionally extracted oils.
How do we make our oils ?
- Cleaning and Inspecting : The oil seeds are cleaned and inspected to ensure that the oil is free from any impurities, farm waste, dust etc.
- Grinding: Oil seeds are then crushed using a wooden ghani. The wooden ghani slowly grinds the seeds to extract the oil by pressing it against the wood.
- Natural Filtration: Once the oil is extracted, it is kept in oil tanks for about 1-2 days to ensure that maximum oil sediments settle down at the bottom of the tank.
- Bottling: Naturally filtered oil is then bottled in small batches to maintain its freshness and quality.
How our oils are different ?
- Retains nutrients: Cold-pressed and wood-pressed oils are made using a traditional method that involves grinding and pressing nuts or seeds without using heat or chemicals. This process helps retain the natural nutrients and antioxidants in the oil.
- Antioxidant properties: Cold-pressed oils are said to be rich in antioxidants that help prevent damage to cells caused by free radicals. This may reduce the risk of chronic diseases such as cancer and heart disease.
- Pure and chemical-free: Cold-pressed and wood-pressed oils are extracted without using chemicals or solvents, ensuring that the oil is pure and free from harmful chemicals.
- Flavorful: Cold-pressed and wood-pressed oils retain their natural flavor and aroma, making them a popular choice for cooking and salad dressings.
- Environmentally friendly: The traditional method of producing cold-pressed and wood-pressed oils is environmentally friendly since it does not require the use of electricity or other sources of energy.
1. Freshness: Jaivik Jeevan oils are often made to order, they are typically fresher than oils that have been sitting on store shelves for months. This means that they are more likely to retain their natural flavor and nutritional value.
2. Unprocessed: No added preservatives and chemicals.
Since our oil is filtered naturally, it has a thicker consistency and retains its full flavor. As a result, you can use less of it (at least 20% less) than industrially processed refined oil.
Overall, cold-pressed and wood-pressed oils may offer health benefits that conventionally extracted oils may not provide. However, it is important to note that not all cold-pressed and wood-pressed oils are created equal, and the quality of the oil will depend on the source and method of production.
Which one to go for Plastic Vs Glass ?
When it comes to bottling oil, there are typically two options: plastic or glass bottles. Here are some potential differences between the two and you can make your choice as per your liking:
Plastic bottles: Though plastic bottles are not the best commercially available alternative, it offers certain benefits. Two primary benefits are
1. Shipping - It’s safer to ship in plastic bottles and are more acceptable by shipping companies. If a glass bottle breaks it will damage several other packages.
1. Costing - Plastic bottles are always cheaper than glass ones.
Glass bottles: Glass is certainly the preferred choice and offers many benefits. Primary reasons are
1. Non reactive - It is said that Oils do not react with glass and remains intact.
1. Reusable - It can be reused time and again and thus great for environment too.
If you prefer a more cost-effective option, you can choose to have your oil delivered in a plastic bottle. Once you receive it, you can transfer the oil into a glass bottle at home and recycle the plastic bottle. Please note that we do not store oils in plastic bottles at our facility. The oil will only be in a plastic bottle during shipment for a short time, so you can be sure that the quality of the oil is not compromised.
In general, glass bottles may be a better option for cold-pressed oils because they offer superior protection against light and heat. However, plastic bottles may be more convenient and cost-effective for everyday use. Ultimately, the choice between glass and plastic bottles will depend on your specific needs and preferences.
